Life:
Still busy as ever, but we've gotten into a really good routine with school. I'm also trying to switch over to a different section of my "Intro to Psychology" class, because that would eliminate one 4 pm class per week, which means I could pick her up at 5 that night as well, which it what time I usually pick her up when I don't have a late class. I usually drop her off a little earlier now, around 8:30, because she now eats breakfast at the daycare. Hopefully soon she will be eating all the afternoon snack foods as well, and we'll be able to include her on that menu. I don't think she can have the lunch menu quite yet because there are things like fish and pickles, and a lot of stuff that's either not soft enough to give her or too spicy, sweet, or allergenic (such as the fish).
Last weekend we went to a family get-together at my aunt Claires. Everyone is suprised at how fast Harmony is growing and how sturdy she is with walking along furniture and everything. It was really nice to spend some time with the family, I don't get to see them often enough.
Another "special" event this week was my trip to to Family Law Clinic. Although things are going better with Harmony's father now that he's actually decided to be involved, I want to make sure things are settled officially. So far he has been in and out of our lives, changing his mind numerous times. He says that this is his final choice and now he's going to stay involved in Harmony life and commit to taking her a couple nights a week, and he even wants to take her for a whole day on the weekend, but I want to make sure he can't all of a sudden back out on that like he has other things. What if I schedule work for Friday night, and then he doesn't pick her up after daycare like he's supposed to? The daycare would call me at home, say "We're closed and Harmony's still here. Come and pick her up, and pay the late fees." and I'd be responsible for her, plus finding someone who can babysit so I can go to work!!! Or what if he decides to take her home and just keep her there for a week! Legally, I can't call the police because he is technically her father. But then I risk losing my daycare subsidy, not to mention having the worry and stress of missing my little girl, wondering where she is, and not knowing if she is safe or not. I don't think Chris would ever kidnap her or anything, but you hear so many stories, and you just want to be safe. So far, Chris has been less than excited about this. He keeps trying to get me to settled out of court, and keeps asking me, "Why are you bothering with this anyways? I thought we were doing fine?". I just don't trust him at all anymore, not after all that he's done. So hopefully he wont contest the arragement and I wont have to take him to court. I really don't want to have to do that, but I would to make sure my baby was kept safe.
Harmony's Growth:
Harmony had her 9 month checkup on Thursday (almost a month late, but oh well). She's now 28" tall and weighs 20 lbs 12 oz. Not much of a weight gain, but that's very normal because at this age, babies become so mobile, plus their weight gain naturally slows down. She still has 5 6oz bottles a day, plus breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. Dr. Moss said she was doing great. I also asked about Harmony's cough. It may be just due to teething, but she has been hanging on to her cough and runny nose for quite a while. We got chest x-rays done (man, Harmony did not like that at all!!!), so hopefully there's nothing up there.
Harmony has another tooth, believe it or not! She got it this morning and it's next to her top front tooth! The one on the other side looks like it's going to come through soon too, it looks so cute; what a little bunny! :)
