Life:
Harmony's feeling better this week- she stayed home with her Grandma for half of this week while I went to school but she was back at daycare on Thursday. Everyone had really missed her, and I think that as much as she liked spending one-on-one time during the day with her grandmother, she was happy to be back among all her little baby friends! :)
Last Sunday Harmony's dad and I took her to the musuem (we've been getting along reasonably well for a little while, believe it or not!) and Harmony had a really good time walking all over the place. Now that she is walking, she wants to walk everywhere, but she's for some reason she just doesn't want to venture off on her own... it's strange because I remember when Arianna started walking- within a couple weeks of taking her first steps, she decided crawling was just not for her and walked on her own. But Harmony has been very different. She'll take a few steps if you put her standing on her own in the middle of the floor, and she can now stand up for a few minutes at a time in one place, but if you put her near a little table, or near someone, she'll just walk the couple steps towards the person or something sturdy and that'll be it. I think the difference is that Arianna had a 2 year old brother to keep up with and Harmony is perfectly comfortable crawling! I'm not worried though, I mean, obviously she'll start "really" walking when she's ready, so I'm not really pushing her or anything, although I'm definetely very excited when she does take a few steps! :)
Harmony's Growth:
Harmony has been working on a lot of skills this week. She is becoming a lot more social and will wave "bye-bye" pretty consistantly now, as well as ocasionally wave "hello". She also gives cute little kisses, although unfortunately she doesn't quite grasp the concept of a closed- mouth kiss and does tend to drool on the person being kissed! :) She is also starting to sing a little, and especially loves "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". When I sing it just to the words "nana" or "lala", she will pick up on it a little better, and actually sings notes of different pitch (although she hasn't got the tune or anything). Oh, and when she hears music or singing, she'll sometimes start swaying her head back and forth! It's the cutest thing! I knew my little Harmony would be musical! :)
