I have lots of special people in my life right now, aren't I lucky?
Here is a little bit about some of the most important people
to me- my family. People have very different ideas about families
and who can be a family, but I think as long as you have people who
care about eachother and help and support eachother, that is a family!
I have a family at home of my Mommy, my "Daddy" Paul, and me! but I also
have lots of other families that I belong to!
My Mommy
My mommy is the person who takes care of me most of the time.
Just the two of us live in our little house (with our fish
too!) and I like that a lot! :) Mommy and I have lots of fun
together and are always busy with tons of activities. We go
swimming (both in the little pool in our backyard and to the the
"big kid" pool down the road, to museums, to the park (which is
right next to our house), and we go visiting. When we're at home
we do crafts and play with toys and games. We sing songs, read books,
and talk about lots of things. Every night I get some "down" time
for half an hour and usually watch "Magic School bus" while mommy
cooks dinner. Then we eat together and talk about our day. Sometimes
I have some interesting stories to tell mommy at the dinner table (like
the day I tried to cut my hair at daycare!), and sometimes she tells me
some of the neat stuff she has planned for us that weekend or that night.
I'm getting to be a "big helper" around the house too, and laundry and
grocery shopping can even be fun if I'm helping.
Some people might say my mommy is a bit strict, but as much as
I will test the boundaries sometimes, I like the fact that they are there,
because I know that if anything ever happened, my mom would be there
to save me from something dangerous. My mom is a good combination though-
she is very strict about things that are dangerous, but she allows me
to make a lot of choices as well. I can't pick whether or not I hold
her hand crossing the road, but I can go ahead into "my" cupboard and
pick which cereal I want in the morning. My mom is very consistant, and
we get into a nice routine together, which I really like. Sometimes
we have days where we are both tired and stressed, but usually my mom
and I get along great. I know she will always be there to "listen to
my words" when I need her to.
I know that my mommy loves me a whole lot because she tells me that
every single day! Every night she makes time for me when I'm settling down
for bed. We usually have time for a story or two, and for a cozy cuddle
in my big girl bed. Sometimes on the weekends I even get to cuddle a while
in mommy's big bed! We also have special time throughout the day, whether it's
chatting in the car on the way home from school, running around together
outside, or discussing our days over dinner...
There are lots of other pictures of my mommy and me on my
Pics page!
My Daddy "Pauly"
I know that my mom's partner's real name is Paul, but I still consider him
the "daddy at my house", since he lives with us and he does all sorts of
daddy things with me. I used to call him "Pauly" at first, but now that he's
part of our family, I prefer to call him Dad.
I love it the best when we're being silly together-
he puts little stuffed toys on my head and on the light in the kitchen to
be silly.
I like it when we have our time together though, especially
when we have our Family Movie Nights all together- daddy and I can make
pretty good popcorn, and my mom's good at making hot chocolate for us.
One of the exciting things that happened when dady moved into our house was that
he brought along his hamster, Critter!!! I will try to get a picture of me and
Critter soon, but it's tricky because he usually only wakes up at night when I'm
sleeping!
There are lots of other pictures of my daddy Pauly and me on my
Vacation 2002 Pics page!
My "Christopher" Dad
Now that I have two daddies, I call my bio dad "Christopher" Dad if I need to let someone know which dad
I'm talking about. But if it's just me and him, I will just call him "Dad"... as long as I know who I'm
talking about, it's not confusing! My Daddy comes and visits me on special holidays like Christmas and during the summer,
and I like playing with him because he's lots of fun to drag around and show everything
too. Sometimes I take my Dad to the park or to the museum when he is in town!
My Daddy calls me almost every Sunday, and I'm so used to his calls that I will run to
grab the phone on Sunday afternoon because I will know it's right about that time!
Sometimes I like to talk to him a LOT and tell him everything about what's been going
on over at our house. Sometimes I'm pretty busy though and I just tell him a few
things before I'm running off to play again.
My Grandma Sue, Papa Al, and Uncle Geoff
I get very very excited when my mom tells me that I can go and visit my
Grandma Sue and Papa Al! I love playing at their big new house - I even have
my very own room with all my clothes and toys in it, so I know they like
having me over.
My Grandma and Papa spoil me a lot though, they even leave a little ladybug
chocolate and some Smarties in the cupboard when they know I will come over
so that I can go and find it! Sometimes, at Christmas and in the summer, my Daddy
and my Uncle Geoff are staying at Grandma's house too! but I tell them that they are not allowed to sleep
in "my" bed!

Me and my dad, his brother Geoff, and my grandparents Suzanne and Al.
My Grandma Jo, Papa Len, and Uncle Greg ("Eggie")
My grandma Jo & Papa Len have lived far far away since before I was born, but I get to see them at least
twice a year- usually once at Christmas and once during the summer. Now that I'm a lot older, I remember
them more and more, and can even talk to them on the phone once in a while.

Here's a picture of me, my uncle, and my grandparents, at Christmas.

Here's a picture of just me and Papa Len.
My Great-grandma Dee-Dee
Grandma Dee-Dee is actually my Grandma Jo's mom which makes her my *great* grandma! I really like going
over to have dinner at her house- she makes a really good Shephard's pie, which is one of my favourite foods!
and of course she also loves to spoil me just like any grandma. :) I have lots of fun with my grandma
but sometimes she works too hard and my mom tells me to go and tell grandma to "sit down!" - I'm pretty
good at bossing her around and she usually lets me too...

Here's a picture of me and Grandma Dee-Dee at Christmas time.
My Great-grandma Toni
My great-grandma Toni is my Papa Len's mom. We visit her at her nursing home and I always help by pushing
the buttons to get to her floor. Sometimes she gives me rides in her walker, which I think is extra cool.
I like telling her about all the things I've been up to at school, and she asks me sometimes what I know
in french because that's her first language. Sometimes I'll count to ten in french for her, but other
times I'm too shy.

I went to visit my Grandma Toni on Mother's Day and brought her a present!
My Daddy "Pauly"'s family
Kathryn and Jeannine
My "Pauly" daddy's mom and sister are really fun to play with! so I love it when they come to visit or I go
to visit them. Sometimes I'm a little bossy with them (what else is new, I'm like that with everyone else), but
they still seem to think I'm funny and cute. They have a hamster at their house too, so whenever I'm over,
I go and check to see if Amos is awake.
Madyson
Baby Madyson is Daddy's cousin's little girl, and I finally got to meet her this Thanksgiving. She is so cute
and she was even trying to give me some drooly baby kisses (since I'm so much older and more mature, I humoured
her by letting her think they were really kisses). I was showing her some of my toys, and then she had a blast
chasing me around Daddy's grandma's house. She can't walk yet, so I had to get down and crawl just like her.
