Week 18

(July 8th- July 15th)

Emotional:

What an exciting week!!! On the evening of July 8th, Chris and I went to the obstetrician's office to get our first look at our baby! It was uncomfortable having such a full bladder but it was certainly worth it! We got to see our baby kicking around, and got to see all her little tiny body parts. We also got to see the sex of the baby...

It's a girl!!!

That was the most exciting part! Both Chris and I had been hoping for a girl, and I had a feeling that she was a girl...We've almost definetely settled on the name Harmony for her first name, and now we'll be picking out middle names and trying to decide what to do about the last name and start thinking about how to decorate her room...

Physical:

Well, I'm still not very big. I have yet to be asked whether or not I was pregnant by someone that didn't already know I was pregnant. I have been feeling very tired still but I think that may be because my hemoglobin is low. The doctor told me to take iron supplements to counter that. As for Harmony, she's been quite active, and her kicks became very prominent. There's no question they are kicks either. It was this week they became very definite. The first big, "for sure it's a kick" kick was on the morning of the ultrasound. I was sitting down eating breakfast and I felt a solid little poke from inside, right below my belly button and to the right a little. Perhaps my little daughter was excited that she would finally show us she was a girl and wouldn't have to be called "she or he" or "the baby" anymore. :)
